This is a movie I love and cherish and waste my time on and this post is about how much I love the Lego Movie. I like movies. I like movies a lot. In fact, if asked to pick between watching a movie or listening to the soundtrack from said movie, I will usually opt for the movie instead because you can do SO MUCH BETTER as an audience member than as a listener. I remember watching the original Star Wars, with my parents when I was younger, being entranced by it. It was the first movie I have ever sat through from start to finish. Everyone that was there that night had a similar experience with it. I still think that the best part of the movie is when Obi-Wan Kenobi is talking to Luke Skywalker in his hut on Tatooine after being burned by Vader. It's so sad yet heartwarming at the same time. I have never found another movie or show or book or anything with so much emotional depth and depth of character development in one single thing as Star Wars did in 1977. It was a lot of fun being in awe of all the special effects that went into this movie. Star Wars lead to the phenomenon that is the Star War Universe. A universe that has spawned countless movies, books, video games, and more in its' wake. They have created a universe with so much depth and character development inside...if you look hard enough in each franchise they have, a character in there has a rich history behind them in their own right. But if I had to pick one franchise from Star Wars to be my favorite from this beloved universe...I would have to say it would be Lego Star Wars from Lego Video Games series. In fact, I love the Lego Star Wars games so much that I own them ALL. Every single one. I have a level 99 character on a Wii U version of the game, and I have all the achievements for every version of this game. The reason why I say it is my favorite from Star Wars is because if you look at the big picture of the Star War Universe, you can see that there are some things about it that just don't make sense to me. Some things that just don't fit into the way these stories have been told for 40 or so years now starting from 1977 up until present day. I just don't get why there are so many different races of sentient beings in the Star War Universe. All these different types of humans, Quarrens, Rodians, Wookies, Ewoks...there are so many of them it's too hard for me to keep track. To be fair there is a LOT to keep track of in this universe. However, if you look closely at the movies and shows and books...there is something that they all seem to have in common when they introduce new races into the story. They don't really bring anything new to the table when they introduce these characters.
